VIP (Volunteer in Philanthropy) Program
If you qualify to register at the Volunteer rate, you qualify for the VIP (Volunteer in Philanthropy) program activities. Designed to facilitate networking among Board Members and Fundraising Volunteers, the VIP program provides these special opportunities. Don't forget to take advantage of the Board and Volunteer Development track in each round of workshops.

If you are a Board Member under the age of 40, consider our Young VIP activities... 
Inspired by the NAYDO Young Professionals Program, Justin Stearns, a Gateway Region YMCA board member under 40, asked if NAYDO could create a similar program for younger board members.  There is no additional cost beyond the conference registration fee. Your Y must be a NAYDO Member, you must be under the age of 40, be a current board member and sign-up on the registration form if you want to receive advance communications. (Note-Additional social activities for board and staff under 40 listed under Young Professionals network)

  • Thursday, April 2       2:45 - 4:00 pm Workshop Presented by Young VIPs  Consider attending
    "Cultivating the Next Generation of Board Leadership" and/or share your suggestions for the content with Justin Stearns at justin.s.stearns@hotmail.com.
  • Friday, April 3    7:45 -8:30 am  Philanthropy Forum Breakfast for Young VIPs  This session to discuss back home implementation of what's been learned and make recommendations on what NAYDO might provide specifically for young board members at the 2021 Conference or year-round.

VIP Power Hour Meet & Greet Reception

4:30 - 5:30 pm


Join NAYDO VIP Chair Mike Hood, past Board Chair of the YMCA of San Diego County, and board members and fundraising volunteers from around the world in this informal cash bar reception.  Get connected with volunteers from all sizes and types of YMCAs.  If you're under age 40, meet Young VIP Chair Justin Stearns who will connect you with other young board members for you to interact as a group during the conference.

 


VIP Hot Topics for Volunteers Only

Thursday, April  2
8:15 - 10:15 am  


One room will be designated "For Volunteers Only" with Hot Topics facilitated by YMCA board members on topics recommended by volunteers attending the conference. Submit your topic ideas to Mike Hood, VIP Program Chair, at mmchood@outlook.com.

Young VIPs (Under 40) will have a table during Round A and an optional mentoring opportunity with experienced Board Members during Round B. 

Beyond Asking: The Role of the Board in Fundraising (For Volunteers Only)

Designed for Board Members; Staff may attend only if accompanied by their Board Member

This Network will have at least 2 reserved tables at the Thursday General Session Luncheon for board members and fundraising volunteers. It is an option for those who would like to sit together but not required.
